our marble and limestone kitchen worktops

Marble and limestone are beautiful stones and look stunning in a kitchen setting. After many years of testing and experimenting, we can now offer a treatment for both that affords them protection from acid etching and staining - two of the reasons why these stones have not been widely used for kitchen worktops, and can offer them with confidence to our customers.

Whether you are looking for something with the striking veining present in many marbles, or want something with the subtle beauty of a limestone with fossil inclusions, you can pick from the large range of stone that we have available, many of them in stock at our Basingstoke factory. Your worktops will be made to measure for your kitchen in the stone of your choice.

You can find out more about the process of getting your new worktop from picking the stone to having it fitted here.

Which material?

As stated above marble and limestone have been prone to acid etching and staining, but we can offer a treatment which gives protection from these problems.

Most people use granite or quartz for worktops, as they are hard wearing and durable.  We are approved fabricators for all the major brands of quartz, such as Silestone, Caesarstone, CRL and Q-Stone.

Quarzite is another suitable natural stone, although it is rarer than granite and therefore more expensive.

We are also approved fabricators for Dekton (link to Dekton page), Lapitec and Neolith.  These sintered stone slabs are made using the latest technique which involves subjecting materials found in natural stone and porcelain to extremely high heat and pressure so that they meld together without the use of binders.  The resulting materials are very heat and frost resistant as well as scratch and stain-proof.

Why choose a marble or limestone kitchen worktop

  1. The veining on marble and multitude of available colours will make your kitchen stand out from the crowd.

  2. Limestone’s subtle details such as fossils embedded in the stone will give your kitchen an air of understated elegance.

  3. The worktop will be made for your kitchen allowing you to customise the look to suit you: straight angles or curves, a routed drainer or simple lines – the choice is yours.

  4. We can treat both marble and limestone worktops to protect them against acid-etching and staining.

  5. The natural coolness of marble and limestone makes them perfect for rolling out pastry.
